Precious Moments

I found some of my old books from when I was a kid at my parent's house the other day and brought them home to read to Ben. I clearly remember Mom reading these books to me. Tonight Grandma is reading them to Ben. It doesn't get much more precious than this...

The best presents can't be bought

Without a doubt, the best present today was having our family here all together. In fact, Ben resisted giving kisses goodbye because he didn't want anyone to leave! Ben loved 'most' of his gifts, and did sometimes seem to have more fun with the boxes, but hands down his favorite present was this train set table. He followed that little choo choo all around the table running from side to side and 'helping' it up the little hill. We all had fun just sitting there watching him. He already wore out the first set of batteries!

Big Christmas Smiles

This picture is a little blurry, but it clearly shows Ben's feelings about Christmas Day. In fact, we all felt the same way about today. Ben got lots of gifts, in fact so many that we never even got to open all of them! That's ok though because that means we can stretch out Christmas for days, maybe weeks!

Cookies for Santa

I'm not really sure Ben understands what he's in for tomorrow morning, but he's taking every precaution to make sure that Santa stops are our house tonight. Believe me, Santa is coming with the largest sack of presents ever! Ben and Momma made these cookies earlier today and they put them out for Santa. Needless to say, the cookies are gone already. We're going to have lots of fun tomorrow! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!

Presents fix everything

Once Ben figured out that big scary dude gave out presents, well his feelings changed about that big red and white guy. That great smile came back! (Gotta love those reindeer antlers)

Sad Ben

Santa visited Ben's daycare this week. He wasn't too thrilled about it at first as you can see in this picture. That pouty little face just breaks your heart... See, Ben's not always happy. In this case I think it was a combination of that scary Santa, and the fact that his daycare room was over-crowded with all the parents and too much was going on. We gave him lots of hugs and he was better soon after. This picture just makes us want to cry...

Winter Swimming

When I asked Ben if he wanted to go swimming last week, he told me, "No Daddy, pool closed." This was exactly what I had told him a couple months ago at the end of summer. Good thing the pool at the YMCA is still open! (they have limited 'open swim' hours which is why we hadn't gone in a while.) Do you think he had fun?? Yes, I did too...

Holiday Shopping

We went shopping for a present for Momma last week but we never got past this display of cheapie watches. Ben felt that every watch box needed to be closed. So we closed them all (on the first row). We spent so much time playing with the boxes that we had to go home without buying anything. Oh well, Momma is still getting lots of presents.

Seagulls like Bagels

We found a bagel on the beach (weird, huh) and used it to feed the birds. Who thought we could be on the beach feeding birds in December! Then we went looking for more bagels. Believe it or not, we actually found another one! Ben loves feeding the birds!

Letters!

We stopped to read the letters on every bench at the beach walk... There are a lot of benches.

Our Greatest Gift

Ben truly is the greatest gift ever!

Coming to a Theater Near You!

Ben is a natural showman. Ready to entertain at any time!

Ben's new Crush

Ben got to meet his distant cousin Stella over Thanksgiving and he fell in love. A week later he still just smiles and blushes when we mention her name. I don't think Stella is into younger men though...

Haircuts can be Scary

Yeah, haircuts are not the most fun thing in the world, but contrary to what you might think looking at this picture, Ben actually does really well getting a haircut. And he's very happy when they're over and he gets a lollipop!

Little Mover

Can he fit on a tray? On some hay? Or on some clay?
Can he sit still still for even 2 seconds, I pray?
No, no, no, he say! He cant, he can't!
Not for one second, one minute or one day!
